Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SeePantry ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SeePantry. Your continued use of the App following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Description of Service

SeePantry is a food management application that helps users track kitchen items, monitor expiration dates, manage shopping lists, discover recipes, and reduce food waste.

The App includes Kitchen Copilot, which proactively surfaces items that need attention, expiring items, shopping nudges, and waste-prevention recommendations, based on your kitchen and consumption patterns.

The App includes Cook Mode, a step-by-step guided cooking experience with per-step timers and hands-free narration. Pro users can enable hands-free mode, which reads recipe steps aloud using Google Cloud Text-to-Speech.

The App includes Curated Week Plans, which are pre-built 7-day meal plan templates. Pro users can import a week plan in one tap, populating their meal schedule and shopping list automatically.

The App includes smart notifications that adapt to your usage patterns. Notification frequency is adjusted based on your engagement to prevent notification fatigue. Activity streaks track consecutive days of use to encourage consistent habits.

The App may include features powered by artificial intelligence, including receipt scanning, food recognition, recipe import, price estimation, and restock predictions. These features are provided on an "as is" basis and may not always be perfectly accurate. See "Food Safety & Health Disclaimer" and "AI Accuracy Disclaimer" below.

Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using a valid email address or a supported third-party sign-in provider (Google or Apple). You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to create an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

User Content

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App, including kitchen items, shopping lists, meal plans, and imported recipes. By using the App, you grant SeePantry a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any content you submit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

Subscriptions and Billing

SeePantry offers free and paid subscription tiers (Pro and Family). Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on a monthly or annual basis.

• Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings (Apple: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; Google: Play Store > Subscriptions).
• Refunds are subject to the policies of Apple or Google, as applicable. SeePantry does not process refunds directly.
• Prices are subject to change. We will provide notice of any price changes before they take effect.
• Downgrading from a paid tier to Free will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not lose data, but access to Pro/Family features will be restricted.

Food Safety & Health Disclaimer

SeePantry is not a food safety authority, nutritionist, dietician, or physician. The App is a convenience tool for tracking kitchen items and should not be relied upon as the sole source of food safety information.

• Expiration date estimates generated by the App are approximate and based on general food category guidelines. Actual shelf life varies by storage conditions, packaging, and other factors.
• Always use your own judgement and senses (sight, smell, taste) to determine whether food is safe to consume. When in doubt, discard the item.
• Nutritional information displayed in recipes is sourced from third-party databases and may not be accurate for your specific products or portion sizes. Some recipe content is powered by FatSecret Platform API and TheMealDB.
• Recipe suggestions, ingredient substitutions, and meal plans are for informational purposes only. They do not account for food allergies, intolerances, medication interactions, or specific dietary medical requirements.
• If you have food allergies or sensitivities, always verify ingredients independently before consuming any food.

SeePantry is not liable for any adverse health outcomes resulting from reliance on information provided by the App.

AI Accuracy Disclaimer

Several features of the App are powered by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini). While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated results may contain errors. Specifically:

• Receipt scanning may misread item names, prices, or quantities
• Fridge photo scanning may fail to identify items or identify them incorrectly
• Food classification may assign incorrect categories
• Price estimates are approximations based on historical data and AI prediction
• Restock predictions are estimates and should not replace your own judgement
• Recipe import from URLs, text, or photos may produce incomplete or inaccurate ingredients and directions

You should always review and verify AI-generated results before relying on them. SeePantry provides tools to edit and correct all AI-generated data within the App.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Upload malicious code or content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Share or distribute shared list links with the intent to spam or harass recipients

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, graphics, and content (excluding user-generated content), is the property of SeePantry and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include the right to modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SeePantry, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App in violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Any content you submit through the App
• Your infringement of any third-party rights

This indemnification obligation survives the termination of these Terms and your use of the App.

Limitation of Liability

General: To the maximum extent permitted by law, SeePantry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

For United States residents: THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

For European Economic Area / UK residents: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable EU or UK law. For any liability not excluded above, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

For Australian residents: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures, you are entitled to a replacement or refund. For other failures, you are entitled to have the goods or services re-supplied. Our liability for anything else is limited to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied.

Dispute Resolution

We want to address your concerns without resorting to formal legal proceedings. If you have a dispute with SeePantry, please contact us at legal@seepantry.com first and we will attempt to resolve it informally within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally:

For United States residents: Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in the state of your residence or another mutually agreed location. YOU AND SEEPANTRY AGREE TO WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

For EEA/UK residents: You may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. You may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

For all other jurisdictions: Disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction as described in "Governing Law" below.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for more than 24 months, with 30 days' prior email notice.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through Settings > Delete Account.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, but will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email at least 15 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after such notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the App and delete your account. Previous versions of these Terms are available upon request.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Notwithstanding the above, if you are a consumer residing in the EEA, UK, or Australia, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable local law.
