What can I cook with what I have?

SeePantry answers that from your actual kitchen rather than a checklist you fill in each time. Recipes are ranked by how many of their ingredients you already own, and pushed up the list when they use something about to expire. Open one and it shows what you have, what you are short of, and how much of each is in stock.

Recipes ranked by how many ingredients are already in your kitchen

Ranked by your kitchen, not by popularity

Every recipe carries a match against what you own. Staples are flagged so you are not sent shopping for salt, and the amount you have in stock sits beside each ingredient line. Recipes that use something expiring today or tomorrow are surfaced first, which is the whole point.

Missing one thing? Swap it

If a recipe calls for something you do not have, swap that ingredient for one you do, picked directly from your kitchen. Or send everything you are short of to your shopping list in a single tap.

Search by ingredients, not just by dish

Type several ingredients and SeePantry shows what uses all of them, then what almost matches. It understands that pasta covers spaghetti, penne and fettuccine, and that cheese covers cheddar, parmesan and mozzarella.

Common questions

Is there an app that tells you what to cook with the ingredients you have?
SeePantry ranks recipes by how many of their ingredients are already in your kitchen and prioritises ones that use food about to expire. It also lets you swap a missing ingredient for something you do have.
Do I have to enter my ingredients every time?
No. It uses your existing kitchen, which you build by scanning receipts or barcodes rather than by ticking boxes, and it updates itself as you cook and use things up.
Does it deduct ingredients after I cook?
Yes. Cook Mode reads the steps aloud and, when you finish, removes the ingredients you used at the right sub-unit amounts, so a recipe needing five garlic cloves takes five, not the whole head.
